Syzygia vs n8n

n8n is a workflow automation tool with a visual node editor and AI agent nodes that technical teams can self-host. Syzygia is a managed Agentic Operating System (Agentic OS) with ready-made, role-based agents for business teams. Choose n8n if you want to build and host your own automations; choose Syzygia if you want agents that already know the job.

How it’s organized

Who does the work, and how it’s organized

Syzygia: a staffed department

Syzzy, your CEO agent, coordinates specialists in each department. They work on schedules, delegate to each other and ask before anything important.

n8n cloud or your own servers

n8n: workflows you build node by node

Technical teams design the flow visually and run it on n8n’s cloud or on their own servers.

Inside Syzygia

What the work looks like in Syzygia

Not a blank chat and not a flowchart: agents with a role, a schedule and a person approving what matters.

Ask, then approve

Ask Syzzy in plain language. Agents prepare the work and wait for your go-ahead: on every action in Ask mode, and always on payments.

Briefs on WhatsApp and email

Scheduled tasks run on their own — like a daily “bills due” report at 08:00 — and land where you already are.

The cost of every execution

Each execution shows the credits it used, and the agent’s tier caps what a single execution can spend.

Which one, for which job

Both are good tools. They are built for different jobs.

Pick n8n if…

  • You have engineers and want to own the automation logic and hosting.
  • Data must stay on your own infrastructure.
  • You need custom flows that no ready-made agent covers.

Pick Syzygia if…

  • Business teams should be productive without building workflows.
  • You want pages, files, schedules and approvals included, not assembled.
  • You prefer a managed service to running servers.
Running both? Engineering can keep n8n for internal plumbing while business teams work with Syzygia agents.

Questions we hear

Which teams get more out of Syzygia than out of n8n?

When business teams should be productive without building workflows, when you want pages, files, schedules and approvals included rather than assembled, and when you prefer a managed service to running servers.

Is n8n ever the better pick?

When you have engineers who want to own the automation logic and hosting, data must stay on your own infrastructure, or you need custom flows that no ready-made agent covers.

What does each one cost?

n8n’s cloud plans are metered by workflow executions, and the self-hosted Community Edition is free under the Sustainable Use License (fair-code). Syzygia has two monthly plans with Syzygia Credits included — Personal $99 and Ramp-up $400 — and a Custom plan for larger teams; each execution is capped by the agent’s tier.

Do they work side by side?

Yes. Engineering can keep n8n for internal plumbing while business teams work with Syzygia agents.

How do approvals work in Syzygia?

Each conversation runs in Ask or Auto mode; in Ask mode the agent waits for your OK before every action. Payments always wait for a person to approve them in the Hub, and publishing can too: each publishing agent has an “Approval before publishing” setting. Every execution is logged with the credits it used.
